DESCRIPTION:A silent invasion of weeds is taking over some of our beautiful Oregon landscapes. The Jackson & Josephine Cooperative Weed Management Areas are sponsoring three educational community events in Cave Junction\, Grants Pass\, and Eagle Point this spring. Join us with friends\, family\, and fellow nature enthusiasts as we pull together to clear noxious weeds from our parks and along our rivers. Bring work gloves if you have them. Register and more information at rogueweeds.info. Volunteers will receive free snacks\, t-shirts\, and prizes. \nNoxious weeds are non-native invasive species which threaten our natural areas. They crowd out native plants\, reduce food for wildlife\, impair pollinator habitat\, degrade our natural heritage\, and increase fire danger. \nSponsors and partners include: Bureau Land Management\, Cultural & Ecological Enhancement Network\, Illinois Valley Jackson Soil & Water Conservation\, Jackson Soil & Water Conservation District\, Josephine County Parks\, Meyer Memorial Trust\, Oregon Department of Agriculture\, Oregon State Parks\, REI\, Rogue Basin Partnership\, Siskiyou Chapter of the Oregon Native Plant Society\, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy\, Strauss Ecological Services\, SOLVE\, and U.S. Forest Service.
