The Rogue River Watershed Council is implementing a fish passage improvement project on Ashland Creek at the Smith-Myer-Roper Diversion Dam, located in Ashland Creek Park. The project aims to remove the dam to improve juvenile fish passage for Coho Salmon and steelhead as well as improve the irrigation system so that water users can still divert their full water right. Ashland Creek provides essential cold water habitat for Rogue Basin salmon and this project will improve access to 2 miles of additional habitat. Project manager Alexis Larsen will discuss the project as well as other restoration work that RRWC is doing in the Rogue Basin.
This event is free and open to the public.
