The Middle Rogue Steelheaders will hold our 24th Annual Restoring the Rogue Salmon Derby on Saturday August 24th, 2019 with the Banquet, Auctions and raffle on August 22nd, 2019 the Thursday evening prior to the Derby. This is our clubs yearly Salmon/Steelhead stream and river conservation and restorations programs fundraiser.
When you first register for the Derby, you have the right to purchase Calcutta ($100) for your boat. If you opt-out of the Calcutta at the time of registration (7/31/2019 deadline), your boat will be available at the Salmon Derby Banquet, August 22, 2019 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
We participate in numerous streamside tree planting projects as well as Invasive species identification and removal. We participate with ODFW in ongoing educational programs for adult and youth in the Rogue River basin. Our ODFW certified Angler Education members conduct several school clinics each year along with a daylong fishing outing at Lake Selmac.
We put on adult fishing clinics, a Veteran’s fishing outing, and annual River Cleanup.
We have built several life jacket station that placed throughout Josephine County.
At Thursday night’s dinner, we will hold our auctions and raffles. Items included are rods and reels, as well as 3-day guided river trips, dinners and overnight stays at some of Southern Oregon’s Premier Lodges and resorts. Last year the winner of our 50/50 raffle took home over $1,500. The Calcutta on the boats last year raised over $2400, 50% of which went to our Derby fund and the rest to the winning bidders of the top 2 boats.
There is going to be a limited number of guides available this year. Get your Registration in early.
Come and join us for a fun day of fishing on the river, you also get gratification for having contributed to a great cause!
Thank you,
