Ecological restoration is crucial for mitigating losses to plant and animal diversity on a global scale, yet the need for genetically appropriate native plants is often unmet. Regional native plant cooperatives are an emerging tool for meeting this demand. Kathryn Prive, coordinator for the Rogue Native Plant Partnership, will provide an introduction of the newly formed Partnership and what is being done in this region to provide native plants for local restoration projects and members of the public.
A special tour of the SOU Herbarium will be at 6:30 pm for those who are interested.
Refreshments at 6:45pm, meeting and program at 7:00pm.
