Applied Riparian Restoration: Turning Theory into Practice

Two-day workshop integrating traditional classroom learning with experts, field scenarios and learning from your peers!

Workshop Objectives

  • Increase knowledge, skills, and confidence for successful riparian project planning, implementation,
    and maintenance.
  • Integrate technical modules, field-based sessions, and peer-to-peer learning.
  • Enhance regional networking and capacity for riparian practitioners in southwestern Oregon.

Target Audience

  • Restoration practitioners who are expected to plan, implement, and maintain riparian enhancement projects in agricultural or rural landscapes in the Rogue-Siskiyou ecoregion and surrounding areas.

Workshop Location

  • Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District, 89 Alder St, Central Point, OR 97502.

Registration

  • $50 registration fee includes coffee, light breakfast, lunch, and transportation to field sites for both days.

Financial Assistance

A limited amount of funding is available to support participation by smaller organizations. If interested, submit the request form to [email protected] by February 15. A link to the request form is listed above. Please wait to register until you are notified of your award amount (by February 22).

Overview of Agenda

Day 1 – Thursday, March 7, 2019 (9 AM to 5 PM):

  • AM – Technical presentations on riparian restoration fundamentals
  • PM – Field practicum and discussion related to the morning topics
  • Optional activities 5 to 9 PM

Day 2 – Friday, March 8, 2019 (9 AM to 4 PM):

  • AM – Technical presentations on the nuts-and-bolts of implementing projects
  • PM – Field practicum for the morning topics
