Spring is a great time to walk the Upper Rogue River Trail to witness the spring snow melt rush through the volcanic geology of the Upper Rogue River Gorge. On this spring hike series we will see evidence of the Rogue’s volcanic history, watch and listen for forest birds, and identify the spring flora of the river gorge
This 3.5 mile hike consists of mostly easy, level grade one way from Natural Bridge Viewpoint parking lot to Woodruff Bridge Picnic area. It will require a short shuttle back to the starting point at the end of the hike. At Natural Bridge, we will see the river enter a maze of lava tubes and then walk the trail along the river through timber and scrub and admire the pools and drops as well as a rapid known as Knob Falls. Bring food/water, binoculars if birding, and dress for changing weather.
This event is free, but space limited. Please RSVP at registration link.
