World Fish Migration Day Festival & 5K Migratory Run

OUTREACH FAIR

Fun for all ages! Look for aquatic bugs in Gilbert Creek, try your hand at tying flies, practice your cast, see live steelhead, go on a nature walk to learn about stream restoration, play watershed jeopardy, make a salmon art print, test your ability to traverse obstacles like a migrating salmon, and more! FREE!  11:00am – 3:00pm

5K MIGRATORY RUN

Chip-timed! Register as a runner or a walker! Early registration through April 4: $20 for adults; $15 for 18 years and under. Ribbons awarded to top three male & female finishers in each age class. Very cool t-shirt available! Packet pickup & late registration (late fee of $5) onsite 9:30 – 10:45 morning of event.  11:00am start.

COSTUMED KIDS’ DASH AT NOON

All participants (12 and under) will receive a ribbon; costumes will be judged with the top three receiving prizes (costumes must be related to fish migration)

SPECIAL EVENING PRESENTATION

Fisheries biologist Stewart Reid, PhD, will be talking about the biology, diversity, and conservation of one of the Rogue’s more mysterious migratory fishes, the Pacific Lamprey!
